As an MK and as an adult missionary I have seen first hand the damage that can be done to a ministry when a missionary family is under constant stress. I trained as a teacher in order to minister to MKs, but as a teacher I found I wanted to minister to the families more than my professional occupation allowed. I moved back to the states to determine what direction the Lord wanted me to move and at that point he gave me the vision for an Oasis for missionaries.

I did not know what, if anything, was available for missionaries so I began enquiries with many mission agencies. I was troubled to find that there was not very much available which provided missionaries with places of rest and refreshment.

I was even more concerned as I discovered how many places there were to help missionaries overcome burnout. I felt more strongly the need to help prevent the international workers from having to go through burnout at all. I wanted to provide a place where missionaries could come away and spend time with their families and the Lord and be strengthened to continue their work.

I began speaking with mission agencies and although they were eager to use such a ministry and saw the deep need for it, none of them had such a ministry in place! After much searching and praying the Lord led me to Life Impact Inc. and I was thrilled to discover others with the same heart for missionary care that the Lord had placed in me. I am delighted now to be a member of Life Impact and to be opening the first overseas Oasis.

I felt the need to open an Oasis overseas so as to be more easily and cheaply accessible for missionaries on the field. Central Europe is centrally located so as to allow missionaries from Europe, Western Asia, Northern Africa and the Middle East to come to the Oasis without a great deal of travel time or extra cost.

In every step of this process the Lord has brought missionaries to me who have confirmed their need for such a place of rest and rejuvenation. So the Oasis can be a place of rest and refreshment to you and your family. And I would be glad to discuss Childrens' Education or MK issues with you if you desire.
