What We Offer
Located in a secluded neighborhood, Shepherd’s Rest Oasis offers guests the opportunity to enjoy expansive river views of the L-C Valley from the deck, as well as to experience the quietness of a private backyard. Less than a mile from the paved walking /biking paths along the Snake and Clearwater Rivers, and only a 5-7 minute drive to the quaint downtown sections of both Lewiston and Clarkston, there’s a lot here to take advantage of, in finding rest and refreshment.
Our vision in serving with LI is to come alongside pastoral couples and those in ministry by providing a place and ministry of rest, refreshment, and restoration for life and ministry. We understand the challenges, demands, confusion, and pain that can take place in ministry. We also know the kind of stress and pressure that can build in the personal life of a leader and how that can impact one’s emotional, physical, and spiritual life, including marriage and family relationships. Additionally, we know about those times in ministry when we feel like we’re “all alone”, whether it’s real or imagined. Our hope is to be able to provide a ministry so that you will not only survive, but thrive. We can offer pastoral counsel/advice, spiritual direction, and/or coaching. More importantly, we can offer you a listening ear, a caring heart, and an encouraging word as needed or requested. AND if all you need is some “space” and rest, that’s available as well!
The “L-C Valley” is one of the best places you’ve never been! The twin cities of Lewiston, Idaho, and Clarkston, Washington, are situated across from each other on the Snake River, with a population of 40,000. Isolated from the rush of big cities and Interstate freeways, the community has the feel of peace and quiet. Known as the Banana Belt of the Northwest, the low altitude (lowest in the State of Idaho) means a mild year-round climate.
There are many parks, quaint restaurants, and even two Starbucks! Additionally, there are 16 miles of paved paths along the rivers for walking and biking. There’s also year-round golf. For those who enjoy God’s creation, this area is a paradise with National Forest hiking trails, beaches along both the Snake and Clearwater River, wheat fields, and lots of wildlife, all within a one hour drive. And for the more adventurous: jet boat trips up Hell’s Canyon, fishing, and other outdoor recreational opportunities are at your fingertips. More than anything, this is a FANTASTIC place for those in ministry who are weary and heavy laden so that Jesus can give rest for your soul.
